Necia Gates began her career in the property claims space behind the desk during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, where she developed a deep understanding of insurance processes and claim strategy. Over time, she expanded into the field, where she developed a passion for climbing and inspecting roofs—approaching each one with a trained eye and an appreciation for the detail in the work. An entrepreneur and the creative force behind the brand, Necia specializes in client relations, combining hands-on inspections with a structured, detail-driven approach that helps homeowners understand the process and move through it with confidence.

Herbert “David” Gates, a veteran, and Haag-certified roofing professional, brings a strong background in leadership and relationship building. With a natural ability to secure resources, he quickly transitioned into building and scaling his own company, taking a hands-on approach to every project. His genuine enjoyment of working with people creates a level of communication and trust that clients immediately feel.

As licensed adjusters, Necia and David recognized early on the gap between roofing execution and insurance understanding when they entered the roofing industry in 2021. With years of prior experience in claims, they had already seen—firsthand—homeowners being encouraged to file claims that were not warranted, creating false expectations, unnecessary stress, and complications with insurance carriers. Both are certified in rope and harness systems, allowing them to physically climb and inspect roofs rather than relying solely on drone assessments—bringing a higher level of accuracy and accountability to every project.

They built Gates Roofing to do things differently—combining technical knowledge, field experience, and honest guidance to ensure homeowners only move forward when it truly makes sense. Their approach brings clarity, protects the homeowner’s best interest, and delivers a process that is transparent, precise, and built on integrity from start to finish.
